Last Fall, I read about an organization in my town that was struggling to help local families in need with food, shelter, clothing, counseling and more. The North Ridgeville Community Care (NRCC) was experiencing dwindling funds as the demand for their services sharply increased due to our nation's worst recession in over 70 years.

That's when I decided to create a poster celebrating the Bicentennial of North Ridgeville to be used as a fund raiser for the NRCC.

The poster was designed with photos  of North Ridgeville that I took last summer. My company, SpectraLight Photography, picked up the cost of printing so that 100% of the money raised would go to NRCC. My goal is to raise $1000.00 for this worthy organization through the sale of this poster. …

Dara Hosta Olmsted Spirit 5K Race is May 2, 2010

The “Dara Hosta Olmsted Spirit 5K Race/Walk” is on May 2, 2010. It is in memory of the OFHS Freshman, Dara Hosta, who passed away after winning the 400 meter run in gym class in the Spring of 2000.

Besides the community spirit this event fosters, all monies raised from the race/walk (after expenses) will go toward college scholarships for Olmsted Falls High School seniors who have shown their school and/or community spirit by the activities they were involved in during their lifetime.

Another photo of Mel

Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph Mel, a sweetheart of a dog that had a leg amputated about a month ago. He was such a great creture to work with.

Mel is undergoing chemo treatment to knock out the cancer that cost him is leg. His best friend, Catie Wightman, is accepting donations for the chemo and the amputation. All proceeds benefit North Ridgeville Community Care – a non-profit organization helping local families with food, shelter, clothing, counseling and more.
