Make your photos shine with easy, gorgeous color enhancement

Sometimes the beautiful color you see with your eyes doesn't appear that way in your photographs. Why settle for dull, boring photos when you can make your photos shine with gorgeous color enhancement?

Most people take photos with their camera set on “automatic.” While that setting does an “okay” job capturing a picture, it “averages” out the light and dark areas of a scene – often creating low contrast images. …

How to get your camera back if you lose it

Take a photo of yourself holding a sign like this as the first picture on your digital card. (No, this is not a photo of me!)

Back in 1984, I left a bag loaded with thousands of dollars of camera equipment along side a country road in Austria.

I had just photographed some amazing views of the Austrian Alps before moving on to photograph some castles in Germany.

About an hour later (and 50 miles of treacherous, mountainous roads) I realized what I had done. I raced back to the scenic spot and the bag was gone. Fortunately, it was turned in to the local police. I paid a small “reward” to the finder and all ended well.

I just read how another photographer developed a strategy that will increase the chance of getting your camera back – should you leave it behind. It's cute and clever and it will certainly make you smile!

Mocha Monkey enjoyed breakfast in Santa Cruz

The Mocha Monkey scarfed down half my Grand Slam at Denny's (at 5 a.m.!) before heading out toward San Francisco on Saturday.

We then burned a lot of “shoe leather” hiking up-and-down the streets (hills) of San Francisco. I knew the city was built on hills but I never knew how STEEP they were!

Check back often to read about other San Francisco adventures of the Mocha Monkey.

The Mocha Monkey nearly falls off a cliff

Late Friday, the Mocha Monkey nearly fell off a cliff along California Highway 1 between San Francisco and Santa Cruz.

Apparently trying to get a closer look at the Pacific Ocean, he got too close to the edge of the rocks and slipped. After he called out that he was in trouble, I immediately pulled him to safety.

Although Mocha Monkey was a little shaken, he decided to continue with me on our journey to San Francisco.

Check back often for more adventures of the Mocha Monkey.

Zoom, zoom!

Pasadena City Hall

Architecture can lend itself to striking photographs. While a full view of a building shows the overall appearance; it is the detailed close-ups that can present a whole different “feel.”

The photo on the far left was the first view that caught my attention. I then utilized my zoom lense to bring out many of the unique architectural features that really make this building special.

Other notes: These photos are of Pasadena City Hall taken in December, 2009.

Here's a photo of me getting up close and personal at the Rose Bowl Parade. The red arrow is pointing at my face with a camera up to my eye.
