Putting a name to a face is of critical importance when prospecting for new clients or a new job. However, a bad portrait can cause more harm than good. Always put your “best face forward” with how you represent yourself.
A GOOD professional photographer can evaluate your facial features (deep-set eyes, long nose, wide face, etc.) and properly light your face and photograph it at the best angle to minimize various imperfections. …
SpectraLight Photography has created a mini poster commemorating North Ridgeville's 200th birthday featuring photos of local historic landmarks.
All proceeds benefit North Ridgeville Community Care – a non-profit organization helping local families with food, shelter, clothing, counseling and more.
Photos of people taken on a sunny day can be very challenging. Harsh shadows on one side of the face and bright sunlight on the other is very unflattering.
The good news is that with today's cameras, it is not difficult to fix this problem.
The top photo was taken without using the little flash on a “point-and-shoot” digital camera. See the dark shadows on the faces? Also note the distracting signs in the background to the right of the couple.
In the bottom photo, I turned on the flash and let the camera automatically add just enough light for a more pleasing look on the couple's faces. I also moved them a little to the right to hide the distracting signs and reveal the curved sidewalk that “connects” the couple in the foreground to the arbor in the background.
Other notes: These photos were taken two days before the 2010 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena at Tournament House – home of the official Tournament of Roses Association executive offices. It is an Italian Renaissance-style mansion once owned by chewing-gum pioneer William Wrigley Jr. and built between 1906 and 1914.
The couple in the photo are Richard Nicholson (our “unofficial tour guide” and friend) and my wife Doreen.
