A note from owner/photographer – Mark Madere:
God has truly blessed me with a talent which allows me to bring happiness to others through photography.

Unfortunately, through the years I keep hearing a sad story with the same theme – over and over again. It goes something like this:

I wish we had done our family portrait while mom (or dad, husband, wife, brother, sister, son or daughter) were still alive. We kept talking about doing it the last couple years, but we kept putting it off. If we only had known that (loved one's name) was going to have a heart attack (get hit by a car, develop a terminal illness, etc.), we would have done our portrait long ago.

We don't have a crystal ball to anticipate life's unexpected tragedies. But we do have the ability to make the decision to have a family portrait created now… BEFORE we lose a loved one.

In 1997, I received a letter from Sue Schlitter of Olmsted Falls, who had recently lost her father-in-law. Just a couple months prior to his passing, she asked me to do an in-home family portrait with her husband and children and her husband's parents. Later in 1997, Sue had me do another family portrait, again, with her husband and children and with her parents. Her letter follows.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how grateful we were that you could be so flexible and professional in taking our family portrait with my in-laws last year. Since my father-in-law was not well, having the portrait done in my home made the experience easier for all concerned.

We had no idea how valuable your efforts would be until my father-in-law died suddenly two months later. My mother-in-law told many relatives she was glad I had arranged for the portrait to be taken. It's value is priceless.

It was an easy decision to rely on your creativity again, this fall, to have a family portrait taken with my parents and my brother's family. You were able to set-up an appointment around my brother's obligations as a physician at Southwest General Hospital, as well as meet our desire to have the portrait done outside. This was the first time we were all gathered together for the purpose of creating memories that will last a lifetime.

I'm glad we didn't wait until it was too late – for memories are priceless!
