Friendly Village china by Johnson Brothers

SOLD for $300

Vintage Friendly Village china by Johnson Brothers is a traditional dinnerware pattern best known for its charming depictions of idyllic village scenes. All pieces were cast and individually hand-painted in England so no two pieces are exactly alike! First produced in 1953, this heirloom-quality pattern adds a timeless appeal to any table!

The dinnerware is circa early 1970s. It was purchased by my wife’s mother and enjoyed by her at numerous family holidays until her passing in 2021.

I have made every effort to capture accurate color for each piece in these photographs. Unfortunately, the device that you view these photos on may render them brighter, darker, with more or less contrast or slightly different color.

Below is a video that I created with closeups of each piece so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting. You’ll also hear the history of how and why the Johnson Brothers started their business.

I have reviewed a variety of websites that offer the Friendly Village collection and have determined that the value of all the pieces combined is worth over $1000. Because I don’t want to sell this collection piece mill, I have decided to offer the entire collection for far less than the individual pieces are worth. If there are individual items you would like to purchase instead of everything listed here – contact me to discuss your needs.

Condition: Very good except for a small chip inside top of the teapot (the lid covers it) and glaze that has crackled inside the creamer. I have included photos of both of those pieces showing those issues in the video.

You can pick it up at my home in North Ridgeville, Ohio (Only 9 minutes west of Great Northern Mall and Cleveland Hopkins Airport). Shipping is available for an extra cost. I’ll quote a price based on the number of pieces you’re purchasing and your location.
